Santa Barbara Design Center would like to introduce you to this great line that we will be carrying in our showroom. Palecek Furniture was developed 40 years ago by Allan Palecek. Allan, developed his line of furniture from the inspiration that he felt after traveling the globe. He fell for the centuries-old tradition of basket-weaving from the indigenous peoples of Asia. Impressed with their use of quickly renewable materials like seagrass, bamboo, and rattan, he returned with a unique, attractive product that gained immediate attention by the home décor industry.
In 2012, Allan was presented the ARTS Academy of Achievement Honor. Palecek’s San Francisco Bay Area headquarters offer an extensive line of award winning, handcrafted and eco-conscious designs, upholstered and finished in Richmond, CA. We love that it is made in the USA and in California and also because they strive to to use sources that are gentle on both the environment and the people who work within it. That’s why they use woods which are largely plantation grown, and they also use abundant, quickly renewable materials like rattan, abaca, and seagrass. And lastly, they also rely on water-based finishes in their line of paint-able furniture, making them safer for your family, and their employees.
We feel that the line of Palecek’s furniture that we are carrying at Santa Barbara Modern Home is timeless in that they will never go out of style because they have a transitional quality that they can go in any style of any interior – so they are a perfect fit.
